Our Story

Bears & Feathers, established in 2025, began with the purpose of fostering a sense of belonging and connection for outlier youth whose talents and gifts remained overlooked or untapped. These kids are frequently hidden in plain sight. In fact, many suffer in quiet desperation, seeking a place to blossom fully. They dream of kind peers who can embrace their quirkiness, unusual creativity, or intellectual intensity. Boxed in by labels like gifted or disabled, these complex youngsters are pushed aside and, worse, into a life of toxic loneliness. The ramifications for future generational health are devastating. Not to mention the invaluable gifts society is squandering by not providing a safe, resourceful space for youth realization.

We hope to do our part at B&F by supporting projects that are conceived and led by youth. We also want to serve as an inspirational force to youth who dream yet need help in pushing forward. We hope to show that adults too can be brave enough to act and advocate alongside. If we are to be proponents of future change agents, we must become them as well.
